Norman Maclean (A River Runs Through It)
My dear friends Pat & Leah got married on the banks of the Missouri River this September.
The day previous had been a rather harrowing one for Dave & I as his father underwent surgery on his brain, but as he had faced the scalpel head on (literally) & had come out victorious, we decided the very best celebration possible would be attending these nuptials; two humans we mutually adore & two people his father loves.
And oh, are we glad we did.
It was an amazing day, albeit a windy one. Their wedding featured fabulous music, thanks to Pat’s truly talented family & Leah’s unbelievably talented brother, as well as love, laughter, dancing & a late night swim across the Missouri. A true celebration of all things good & all things Montana.
Congratulations Pat & Leah. Thanks for throwing such a fabulous party & thanks for being our friends.
Happy weekend.

Oh, wow.
I love days like this one. Mitch & Sarah were married at the Court in the Square on a lovely day in September.
We ran around on the rooftops of downtown Seattle, danced to the tune of a tuba player in Pioneer Square & laughed. We laughed a lot.
Mitch & Sarah, Congratulations. Thank you for letting me be a part of such a fabulous day & allowing me into your lives.
Cheers.

Ah, the Browns.
There are few people more special to the photography practice that is Lola & Bliss than Kara & Nick Brown.
As a (very) professionally fresh photographer, they entrusted me with their engagement … Then their wedding … Then their pregnancy … And now, with Baby Brooklyn.
There is nothing more precious to me than being invited into people’s lives, into their space, into their everyday. It is a gift that I don’t take lightly.
Especially when they’re lives that are as premier as the Brown’s.
So thank you, Nick & Kara.
Baby Brooklyn, you have tremendous parents. I simply can’t wait for another reason to photograph your beautiful, miniature face. You’re perfection.
For the wedding hungry, there are many more on their way. But sometimes, one needs to take a break & remember where this whole life thing begins.
Happy Thursday.

I shot Phil & Jenna’s wedding with the incredible Carina Strobecki. Check out her amazing work here: http://www.carinaskrobeckiblog.com/
Grant & Rachel got married on a gorgeous day on the Key Peninsula.
They were celebrated by friends & family as they made their vows on the bride’s mother’s amazing property.
Everything about the day was lovely. A beautiful bride, a handsome groom & true love shared by all.
To young love.

What are the odds? In a city of 600,000 (and one in which I no longer live), I pass He Who Shall Not Be Named on the street. I’m thankful I didn’t...
